Case study
A Multilingual Digital Ecosystem for Global Manufacturing
The Challenge
As the world’s largest independent manufacturer of turbogenerators, BRUSH faced a complex logistical hurdle during their expansion into China.
They required a way to transfer intricate engineering processes from their European plants to a new Chinese workforce without the constant, costly presence of expat support. The goal was to transform segmented, hard-to-follow paper processes into a centralized, intuitive Digital Build Manual that maintained manufacturing standards across borders.
The Solution
Multilingual Interface: Developed a seamless language-toggling system between English, Chinese, and Czech to ensure technical accuracy across global sites.
Role-Based Security: Engineered a secure login system that provides controlled, role-specific access to sensitive engineering data and operational processes.
UX-First Design: Optimised the interface specifically for tablet use, maximising screen real estate to provide clear, step-by-step visual guidance on the factory floor.
Content Management: Built a custom administrative backend, allowing BRUSH managers to update engineering sections, term translations, and generator specs in real-time.

The Result
Successfully consolidated disparate workflows into a unified digital environment, setting a new internal standard for operational clarity
The Digital Build Manual has revolutionized how BRUSH communicates technical expertise globally, effectively removing language barriers and the need for on-site expat supervision. Currently deployed across internal networks in the UK and China, the platform has become a foundational tool for the company’s international expansion.
With the system designed for scalability, it remains a future-proof asset as BRUSH continues to grow its global manufacturing footprint.
